BREAKING NEWS: Early this morning, Wednesday December 7th, police moved in on Justin Herman Plaza and dismantled the main #OccupySF camp.

Bicycles, books from the library, tents, and people’s belongings were thrown directly into trash crusher trucks. Many occupiers were trying to leave the area and were arrested anyway. Many more elected to get arrested as a form of peaceful protest.

In recent weeks, mobile occupation forces have formed to occupy various stretches of unused pavement throughout the financial district, as well as in foreclosed homes and other locations throughout the city. Colleges and Universities throughout the city have been mobilizing as well. This movement cannot be contained, and it cannot be stopped.

  2. You should have gone to the site in the Mission. Now it is time to figure out the next phase of te movement. A camp at Justin Herman is a tactic that has outlived its usefulness.

  3. As I walked through camp two days ago to hand out fliers regarding pet care, I met a very spiritual man with a tent set up for meditation. I asked him questions about how to make peace not only within the world but within yourself? How to handle some of the many problems life throws your way. This kind soul methodically explained to me in five minutes how and why we feel such pressure. In his tent wes, a relaxation chair , a place to light an incent and a spiritual statue and a very peaceful aroma. He told me he hopes that when they do invade the camp he hopes they will leave his tent alone. A place of quiet, a place that offered a spiritual side to some of the troubled people within the camp. When I left he gave me some herbal teas and an incent. When I got the call early this morning all I could think about was him and how they ravaged through his place. It sickened me that anyone could tear the tents down and treat people this way, but even worse the sneaky third world way in which they conducted themselves. They acted as savages, taking belongings of fellow Americans. Flooding the streets with items. Hurting people. I have walked this camp so many times and it saddens me. But i lost all my belongings in a flood once and I know that material things are not as important as the lives and values we carry with us.. Occupy will go on. With or without decent behavior from those we pay to protect us from the thieves they have become.

  4. occupy santa cruz was ordered to vacate san lorenzo park by 5 pm today.. sherrifs at the court house have been conducting raids on us on the courthouse property..and last night the barriers the sherriffs built to contain us was tore down after they came for our signs..we have a time restriction on us as to when we can be at the courthouse steps ..from 7am to 7 pm
while some tore down the barriers ..someone took autonomous action and broke a court house window..its odd that december 7th was planned for theses attacks, by law enforcement in both santa cruz and san francisco..
