How We Will Shutdown the Port

We will be creating large community pickets at the Port Terminals. At the port, ILWU members are permitted to honor community pickets and an arbitrator can announce whether that shift is cancelled. We will have pickets set up by 6AM for the morning shift and the 5PM for the evening shift.

What Is Our Attitude Towards Port Workers

Our action is in solidarity with port workers. Any drivers or workers who are trying to leave the port should be allowed to leave. We are trying to keep people out of the port, not prevent people from going home.

We Are Protesting…

• In solidarity with the ILWU Local 21 workers in Longview, WA and their struggle against EGT (Export Grain Terminal)
• In solidarity with port truck drivers and their struggle to be reclassified as employees, rather than independent operators, and in their fight to be organized in a union.
• In response to the coordinated national attacks against the Occupy camps. This is our coordinated response to police violence and repression.
• Against the priorities of the 1% and “Wall Street on the Waterfront”
